HANZA is governed by an experienced Board of Directors. Our Directors have backgrounds in finance and accounting, governance, strategic planning, and homeshare program delivery.
Our Director’s experience in the planning, management and delivery of community services, program research and evaluation, and policy and practice in the aged care, disability and homelessness sectors., supports HANZA to deliver on its strategic goals.
Several or our current and past Directors have been awarded Australian honours in recognition of their ground-breaking community work and the establishment of Homeshare programs in Australia.

Rosie is committed to developing communities where all people have the opportunity to live full lives as active citizens in their own homes and communities. She has worked within services for people who need assistance due to disability, illness or aging for over 45 years undertaking a variety of professional and leadership roles. Most recently she was the CEO of Avivo: Live Life Inc, a service providing a range of home and community supports to Western Australians.
She has a long-standing interest in homesharing, having been involved in the early development of Homeshare and shared living arrangements within Avivo and Western Australia. She is excited to be part of HANZA and working together so homesharing can be offered to more people across Australia and New Zealand.

Tanya has worked in state and local government for the past fifteen years, working across urban strategy, heritage and the arts. She currently works in a leadership role for the City of Melbourne and from mid-2020 to 2022 led the affordable housing workstream for Council and developed the Affordable Housing Strategy 2030. During this time Tanya developed a passion for affordable housing and alternative housing models. Tanya’s skills and experience span strategy development, design thinking and communications.
Tanya is thrilled to have been appointed Deputy Chair of the board of HANZA, allowing her to bring together her interests in social well-being and belonging, affordable housing, shared living and community connection.

Pia is a governance professional, in-house lawyer and non-executive director with experience in executive positions in public listed/unlisted, private and not-for profit organisations in the UK and in Australia. Pia is also a Barrister (np) with extensive experience in contemporary corporate governance, risk management, legal and regulatory compliance, strategic and operational planning and policy development.
Born in Finland, Pia studied and worked in London, becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute in 2000 and was called to the bar in 1997. Pia went on to hold senior company secretarial roles across the UK, and senior management roles in Australia.
Pia is also a fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Phillip has over 35 years experience in Treasury, finance and compliance roles gained through a diverse career with major corporations in Australia. He is currently the CFO for Medicolegal Assessments Group.
He has supported his local community through more than 10 years of volunteer activity across a range of organisations.

Natalie has worked in public health and clinical services research for approximately 10 years, primarily monitoring the safety and quality of healthcare provided across Australia with a view to improving patient outcomes. Natalie has joined HANZA’s Board to support efforts to tackle loneliness in the elderly and the impact this has on their health and quality of life.

Wendy has over 20 years of experience in frontline and management roles within Aged Care and Community Services. She is currently assisting HANZA as the Homeshare Development Officer, liaising on key projects, membership support and grant applications. Previously Wendy was Manager of Services for Older People at Holdsworth Community and helped to establish Holdsworth’s homeshare program.
While at Avivo (Perth Home Care Services), Wendy partnered with HANZA to establish Homeshare in Western Australia and held a Management role overseeing aged, disability and mental health programs. Wendy is passionate about co-creating innovative service options with older people that provide choice and opportunities for them to remain in their homes, connected to friends, family and communities.

Elaine has over 35 years’ experience working in the health services industry as a rehabilitation consultant and exercise physiologist, and prior to that as a teacher.
Elaine believes strongly in community engagement, and in particular that volunteering is an integral part of maintaining healthy and vibrant communities. Elaine has a long-standing history of volunteering, including Clean Up Australia, Australian Red Cross, and English language tutoring. Becoming a Director on the HANZA Board will provide an opportunity for Elaine to contribute to connecting people and building community resilience.

Ashlee has worked in community services for over 12 years across the refugee and asylum seeker, homelessness, children and family, aged care, and disability sectors. Ashlee comes to HANZA with experience in an array of roles from direct support to people and operational leadership. In recent years Ashlee has focused on practice, quality, and safeguarding, working with the NDIA to assist people navigate the scheme’s Home and Living services. She has worked across Western Australia in regional and remote locations and is passionate about community led initiatives. Ashlee is committed to individualised supports, active citizenship, and community partnership. As a member of HANZA for the past four years, Ashlee is excited to start a new journey with HANZA as a Board Director.
Meg’s involvement with Homeshare and HANZA spans in excess of twenty years, during which time she has been a dedicated advocate, researcher, evaluator, board member and Chair. Meg joined the Board in 2018 and was Chair from 2020 until her resignation in 2023 when she was awarded life membership for her immense contribution to the Homeshare movement in our region.
Beris Campbell OAM, BA; Dip Soc Studs (Melb), served as a HANZA Board Director from 2010 to 2022.
Beris was the main driver for Homeshare development in Australia and has been instrumental in establishing and leading the strategies of HANZA. In 2011, she was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of her long and distinguished career in community services and her contribution to Homeshare development. In 2022, she was awarded life membership in recognition of her extraordinary contribution.
Annette Madden OAM, RN, had a long and distinguished career in aged care. In 1997, Annette joined the original Homeshare Committee in Australia. She served as Vice President of the HANZA Board in 2011 and President from 2015 to 2019. In 2018, she was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of her long and distinguished career in aged care and was awarded life membership in 2019
Lyn Grocke was a physiotherapist with a particular interest in the mobility and independence of older people. Her mother was one of the first Householders when Homeshare Victoria commenced operations in 2001. Lyn served on the original Homeshare Committee from the late 1990s and then the HANZA Board as Vice President. Lyn was awarded life membership in 2019.
Carmel Hurst's OAM, RN, experience in arranging a Homeshare-type match for her mother was the inspiration for the establishment of Homeshare in Victoria. Carmel convened the group that founded Homeshare in Melbourne and was a much-loved part of HANZA for many years. She ended her formal role on the Committee when she retired and was awarded life membership in 2018.
Shirley Anderson, BSW (Hons), was the founding HANZA President from 2010 to 2015. A keen supporter of service innovation in the community sector, Shirley contributed significantly to Homeshare’s development from its inception in Melbourne. Shirley retired from the Board and was awarded life membership in 2015 in recognition of her invaluable contribution to HANZA’s development.
Joan Crawford joined the first Homeshare Committee in 1998, and volunteered with HANZA for ten years. In 2015 she was awarded life membership in recognition of her outstanding contribution. Joan is a recipient of an Order of Australia - Public Service Medal for Services to Aged Care and Rotary’s Jock Andrews Award for vocational services to older people.
Alexis has supported Homeshare for over 30 years commencing with the pilot of Homeshare in Victoria. As a senior bureaucrat with the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Alexis was instrumental in connecting HANZA with senior bureaucrats in Canberra and encouraging funding submissions.
On retirement from Government Alexis joined the Wesley Homeshare Advisory Committee, which became the HANZA founding committee of management in 2011. Alexis then served as a hard-working board member and treasurer until retiring in November 2023 and was granted Life Membership in October 2024.
Tony's association with HANZA began in 2009 during the growth of Wesley Homeshare. Tony then became key in developing a Homeshare program for the Eastern Metro Region of Victoria through the Homeshare expansion project of 2012.
Tony facilitated HANZA's transition to an independent organisation and joined the HANZA board in 2015, contributing significantly over the next 8 years, including assisting with the 4th World Homeshare Congress in Melbourne and being a key leader of HANZA’s Community Of practice for its members. Tony became a Life member of HANZA in October 2024.
